What is CM?
CM (Congregatio Missionis or Mission Congregation) was founded by St. Vincent de Paul.
The CM consists of priests and brothers who dedicate themselves to serving the poor, forming future priests, forming lay people, mentoring youth, and providing schools and retreat houses. CM members live in community.
What is the CM Spirit?
The CM spirit is to put on the spirit of Christ, the Herald of the Good News, to the poor (Luke 4:18). This spirit was embodied by St. Vincent de Paul in five virtues: Simplicity, Humility, Meekness, Self-Mercy, and the Salvation of Souls.
To maintain fidelity in serving the poor, CM priests and brothers make simple perpetual vows of CHURCH, POVERTY, OBEDIENCE, and STABILITY (=a lifelong commitment to the CM to proclaim the Gospel to the poor).
