The election of Pope Leo XIV marks a new phase in the Catholic Church\u2019s journey, bringing fresh emphases and theological approaches to ecclesiology – its identity, mission, and engagement with the world. The international seminar \u201cNew Pope \u2013 New Ecclesiology?\u201d offers a platform for reflection on the Church\u2019s possible new directions under his leadership.
\nWith the Church\u2019s global presence, the conference also addresses urgent challenges – referred to as rerum novarum (\u201cnew things\u201d) – including artificial intelligence (AI), digitalization, conflict, migration, inequality, ecological crisis, secularism, moral relativism, declining trust in ecclesial institutions, interreligious tensions, spiritual fatigue, and vocation crises.
\nTheologians from various continents contribute context-based reflections rooted in the Gospel and Church Tradition, seeking ways for the Church to respond faithfully and effectively to today\u2019s pressing issues.<\/p>\n
